FLUORESCENT ORANGE - (FOL)
FLUORESCENT YELLOW - (FYL)
The slight greenish cast to the yellow ball is the most visible color to the human eye. Supplimental to that is the Fluorescent color that enhances the total amount of light coming off the ball.
Benefits of Fluorescent Yellow or Orange Laxgloballs™
The fluorescent color absorbs UV radiation which it converts it visible light which results in an abnormal ball brightness. It is a scientific fact that fluorescent surfaces are more visible than standard colors. It is also a fact that fast moving lacrosse balls, because they are small, are hard to see. Basketballs and footballs are much easier to see, of course, and note that the number of people who enjoy watching those sports is 100’s of times greater than those who watch lacrosse. Is it because they are more exciting? The lacrosse balls fly faster. Making the lacrosse ball more visible is a step toward gaining viewership, especially those not presently watching the games.
1. Greater brightness makes the ball more visible to the observer in the stadium. Being able to see the ball better allows them to follow the flow of the game and enhances their enjoyment of the game. This is especially true for older spectators, whose eyes need more light. To see equivalently as you age you need twice as much light for every decade you add to your life. Often young people don’t grasp that fact.
2. Greater brightness makes the ball more visible to the observer of the game while streaming on their computer or watching on TV. Being able to see the ball better allows them to follow the flow of the game and enhances their enjoyment of the game.
3. Being able to see the ball better allows the camera operator to follow the ball and the action on the field better. The flow of the game is more easily sensed by the camera operator and that is passed on to the digital viewer.
4. A brighter ball will help the lacrosse athletes on the field do their thing and enhance their athleticism. This will also add enjoyment to those watching the games.
